Hey, I’m Elliot!

I’m sarcastic, i’m hungry, and i’m obsessed with exploring the world.

Ever since the beginning of the pandemic I have taken my day job fully remote. The first couple years were anything but eventful as a lot of countries still had their borders closed and international travel was quite difficult. When things started to loosen up (after around 2 years of almost no traveling) I was DYING to go somewhere and that is when I asked myself “if I am working remote here in my apartment, why couldn’t I work remotely anywhere?”. That is when I inherited the digital nomad lifestyle.

The nomadic lifestyle…

I am not the typical digital nomad who is on the road 24/7 as I like to come home every now and again to see friends, family, and well…catch up on sleep. My approach is I like to choose a bunch of different places per year and go spend a good month or so in each spot.

I can honestly say that COVID-19 has changed my life for the better as remote work has opened up so many new opportunities to see the world. It used to be I could only travel for as many Vacation (PTO) days I had available – I felt so restricted this way. As soon as I used up my vacation days on a trip, I would have to wait FOREVER before I had enough accrued to take another one. But now, I can visit a country and spend a month there if I feel like it. It really gives you more of an opportunity to experience that country and all it has to offer.

This Blog…

I decided after a few months of traveling that it would be cool to start a blog so I can share my experiences and recommendations with others. I am by no means a professional writer so with this blog I aim to give a more personal approach with things. I am extremely passionate about travel and love giving advice, recommendations, and tips about everything related to it.

Favorite part about traveling…

There are so many aspects of traveling that I love but my favorite part is probably all the amazing people you meet. It is so interesting to meet people from all over the world and learn about their culture and stories. I remember when I was in Mexico City, I met a guy who was on my flight who I ended up grabbing dinner with. We then met up with one of my buddies who I met in Peru for drinks. Then, when walking to the next bar, we ran into some other guys from Chile and Mexico who both ended up joining the fun. We all sat down at the same table for drinks just like that. So many different cultures and backgrounds all sitting at one table – it was so cool.

Favorite countries…

I really don’t like picking favorites and don’t normally do so – but if I had to pick a couple of my favorites, it would probably be (in no particular order) Italy, Peru, and England (so far!).
